Un Monde Trop Grand

Eric Pergament
Un Monde Trop Grand (A World Too Big)

Bringing immensity down to a manageable size is the thought that Eric Pergament seized upon, one day staring at an empty crate.

Painter and visual artist since always, Eric Pergament believes in the transmission of the idea by the object; a way, according to him, of apprehending the elusive. He redirected his creation in three dimensions, towards a reduction of space and universe, by staging objects to which he brings life again for the time of an emotion, an event, a moment experienced.

A poetic, nostalgic, humorous, fantastic approach: we are observers of a society that looks like us, that makes us smile, because this relationship with the viewer protects us from our involvement in everyone's experience.

Old radios welcome the installations as if to transport the form to the sound, this cosmic sound which conveys our experience and gives the form a shaped resonance that Pergament stages thanks to the objects, witnesses of our thought.

The works of Eric Pergament are part of the FRAC Bretagne and important private collections in France and abroad.
